another day another layout for the hey little magpie chat and inspiration facebook group.
this one is challenge no. 11, to use paint and stitching. well you know me and my stitching, i had to take part in this one!
here is my page…
i used this shape from the silhouette studio and just re arranged them a little, making different sizes too….
i then used the silhouette perforation technique that i shared in this older blog post. it’s really useful so click and have a peek!
i hand stitched the leaves in four different colours of green thread in a sort of ombre effect, then added watercolour paint in a few different shades too. it felt a little flat just like that so i added in the bold blue for a really summery feel.
some of you may wonder why i rarely journal on a page, the truth is that the frillies are my best friends children so we are collaborating for a surprise 18th birthday present where i make the pages and my friend adds the journalling in. we’re hoping they love it – they better had as we have albums full HA!
anyway i digress in my usual meandering way. soooo next up i added in lots of embellishments from my stash and hey presto – done. i love how this turned out in the end.
i hope you like it too!
i still have more shares for you YAY!
you can find me on instagram
i also sell my handmade books on etsy, please take a peek at them by clicking the link on the right >>>>>>>>>
