i’ve been seeing some pretty amazing layouts lately where talented makers are using their stash of wood veneers on layouts. i have a silly amount of them – so had to have a go.
i have also been taking part in paige evans classes on big picture classes, love them and lots of free cut files, one of them being a gorgeous star, had to be used as soon as i saw it.
for this layout i used the pinkfresh studio felicity collection from the like for ever shop – LOVE!
i simply cut the cut file and backed it with the pretty papers, then mounted it all on some dimensional foam. the middle section i filled with wood veneer hearts from studio calico, bobbed an adorable picture of the twins in a frame and added a title. i don’t journal on the layouts themselves as their mum adds it afterwards – just in case you were wondering!
as a final touch i painted yellow acrylic around the edge to make it stand proud, plus i adore yellow HA!
such a simple layout but i like the wood finish and i got to use up some stash too yay!
here is the final layout and some closer detail…
