so perfect…

hi everyone

i have a layout share today. for this layout i chose to work on a pink background. i normally use white but this colour is so beautiful that i couldn’t refuse HA!

i have a set of drawers by becky higgins, well lets be honest i have three as i was lucky enough to get a couple for christmas too, yay! it’s designed for storing project life cards but it’s also perfect for keeping photographs that are waiting to be scrapped.

back to the layout – i was sifting through my photographs and found two that were quite similar and would be great on a layout.

i started by creating clusters of papers from my like for ever kit this month called smitten but i was also determined to use some papers and ephemera from some of my older stash that matched beautifully. now i am always uncomfortable with groups of two, so added another cluster of stacked papers topped with some die cuts. all three of the layered clusters were stacked in an uneven, offset way just to add some interest.

sometimes in valentines kits i can get frustrated by pretty pieces that say the actual word valentine – i mean aldo and i aren’t big on valentines but even if we were there are only so many we can use. but i try to make them work on my layouts. the two pretty vellum banners on the photographs were a perfect example, i just popped word stickers over them and it’s good to go!

i had a piece of paper with lots of hearts on them that were perfect for fussy cutting, so i did one for each photo/cluster and then a load of them for staggering up the page. to add a bit of dimension i folded up the hearts applies hot glue and popped them on the layout.

this ended up being one of my favourite layouts for a while, unashamedly ‘girly’ but i love it for that very reason.

the final layout….
