hello, beautiful – layout two

hi everyone, hope you’re all well and happy!

here’s my second layout using my like for ever hello beautiful kit

i had been looking through my downloaded files on my silhouette cameo and i found a fabulous circle layout that had the holes ready for stitching sooooooo i had to have a go! warning, this is a photo heavy post but i wanted you to see the stitching process

i’m not going to lie – the stitching did take some time; but i popped on some good tv shows and ended up enjoying the process

i chose 4 different threads, in a kind of ombre effect and just repeated them towards the centre. i have done quite a bit of hand sewing in the past so it was good to re visit this.

once the stitching part of the layout had taken shape i set about making a layered backing for my photo of lily using the vellum pockets to hold tags for journaling and lots of pretty papers adding some gold thread to the tags for more interest and texture.

quite a few bits in this cluster are from themaggie holmes shine ephemera pack

i LOVE LOVE LOVE chipboard shapes, they add a real depth to a layout and the ones on the maggie homes shine chipboard  are pretty amazing. i was drawn to the little circle shapes and had to use them on this layout along with the teeny chipboard hearts in various colours. i placed these around the circle randomly and loved how it looked.

a little tip about the chipboard, i like to see how they will look before i stick them down, so i peel of the sticky backing and then i can move them around until i’m happy and then use my hot glue gun for the larger pieces and glossy accents for the smaller ones.

i really hope you all feel inspired to do some stitching on your layouts, if you don’t have a cameo it doesn’t matter, just draw shapes, use a needle and poke the holes around the edge and then sew. the possibilities are endless AND…. i got all my silk threads from car boot sales (tons of it) really cheap – i was so giddy when i found it!!!!

’til next time……

C x
