i have always adored all the embellishments that pinkfresh studio make and have ordered them from the US on a few occasions but had never had any of the paper. soooo i was very giddy indeed when the kit club i use from the fabulous Nicola at http://www.likeforever.co.uk featured a whole stack of paper and embellishments from pinkfresh studio.
i had just been away on holiday for 3 weeks so was desperate to do a layout and this is what, quite literally burst out of me!
on the background I layered a couple of watered down tim holtz paints in blues and then randomly stamped over it in black ink. i wanted the pattern to come out from where I would put my papers and photo.
i am a sucker for layering the patterned papers, no rhyme or reason i just chop them up and keep piling them on until i’m happy with the shape and depth. its a great way to showcase them all. i tucked in some of the gorgeous acetate triangle shapes to add a different texture. i had already chosen my photo, little lily in her ballet outfit. i try to make sure that the photographs match in with the papers I am using.
once i was happy with the layers and photo i paced it on the background with the stamped images peeping out. then the really fun part of adding embellishments. as i’d used a triangle stamped image i chose from my stash a whole bunch of little wooden triangles that i had been saving; these were older pinkfresh studio wood vaneers. in the kit we also got some adorable puffy stickers which were dotted around the photo cluster.
i also used some metallic threads in aqua and pink, which i popped in between the layers, it’s very subtle but adds yet more texture.
i chose one of the puffy stickers as a title – smile. it felt wrong to ut a large title with this layout and the sticker was perfect!
here are a few more pictures of the layout….
i really hope that you have enjoyed reading a little about the process and I will get to grips with how I insert product links, ha – i’ll get there!
